Focus On The Customer For Success

Finding customers that need, want, have issues with or are looking for things to buy is simple and that is the most important thing.  Find what people are already buying and sell it to them.  People buy on emotions.  Therefore, it is imperative to know what emotions your customers are feeling.

Again, the better you know your customers, the more successful your product or service will be.

Tons of businesses, and IMers spend way too much time thinking of what they (themselves) want to sell, what they want to do, what they are interested in, how much they want to make, etc.

None of that is important.

What is important is your customer.  This is a list of questions to ask yourself to find your target market.

What are they (customers) interested in?
What do they want to do?
What problems do they have?
What desires do they have?
How do they feel?
Why do they buy?
Why do they not buy?
What makes them tick?

This list goes on and on.  However there are the basics of finding what to sell as a marketer, business person.

You have to know your customer first.  This is another area many marketers fail.  They think-up something they are interested in, and create a product that is all about them (the creator).  That is incorrect.

YOU FOCUS ON THE CUSTOMER

That customer must be laser targeted.  You have to find a specific group of people, who have a very specific need, and fill it.

Find a starving group of people, and sell them food.
Always think customer and value.

I spoke with a real estate agent recently, who sells information products to that market.  He said that he never brings out the calculator and wonders how much he will sell.  He never does anything like that.

All he does is inundates his customers with tons of value.  He puts himself in their shoes and just severely over-delivers.  He says as long as he is providing much more value than what the customers are paying for, it is always a winner.

You see, he is laser focused on the customer and he keeps his customers top-of-mind in everything he does.  This takes forgetting about you, and focusing on them.

If you can maintain that laser “customer” focus, you can create raving fans out of your customers.  Your products will be more successful and you will build a reputation as a quality provider.

Here are two of my archives that will show you the basics of where to start.  They are entitled “Ramblings and Sources Part1 and Part2”.
